    Point of knowledge:

    General end mill is commonly divided into 2-flute or 4-flute, part of the 3-flute, etc., the number of different cutting edges will greatly affect the performance of the milling cutter, for example, as shown in Figure 1, 2-flute than 4-flute cutting groove, so the 2-flute has a good chip removal ability, but due to the small cross-sectional area, the rigidity of the cutter itself is therefore reduced, easy to produce bending in milling, and therefore the processed material produces bad milling surface, the machining of the dimensional accuracy of the performance of the worse. The chip removal performance of a 4-flute end mill is poorer than 2-flute, due to the larger cross-sectional area of the tool, the rigidity of the tool itself is better, and the general use of the tool can achieve better machining dimensional accuracy. As the feed of a 4-flute end mill is 1.5~2 times, it can get better machining efficiency. General use: 2-flute for general-purpose processing, such as insertion milling, slot milling, side milling, etc., 4-flute for medium and finishing side milling is applied more.
